“The LORD is good to all, and his compassion is over all that he has made” (Ps 145:9).
According to recent studies, there has been an increase in single-parent families originating from a variety of sources. In the United States, 67% of today’s single parents are not actively attending a local church and many feel unwelcome or out of place. Yet, very few Christian churches have any type of formalized single parent’s program and outreach plan.
Sponsored by the office of Marriage and Family Life, the STM Single-Parent Community is offered to families primarily headed by one parent. The Catholic Church takes seriously her responsibility to support every family with their unique challenges of living the Catholic faith and raising Catholic children, regardless of circumstances or family structure. Therefore, we invite you to join us as we build a community of friendship and support, learn more about our faith and Catholic teaching, discover a welcome atmosphere within our parish home, and participate in all aspects of parish family life.
Meetings are one Sunday per month from 12:00 – 2:00 pm in St. Francis Hall room 114. Lunch and child care are provided. The remaining dates for 2015 are September 13, October 4, November 8, and December 6. Please RSVP a few days in advance, so we can accurately prepare for food and care.
