For children in 2nd grade though adults of all ages, who have not been baptized and are interested in receiving the Sacraments of Reconciliaiton and Eucharist, they prepare through the Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA). Preparation is Sunday mornings from September through May. This preparation also includes the completion of Initiation through the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation. So yes, those who wish to join the Catholic Church, are prepared for Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist and Reconciliation through the RCIA.
If they are already Baptized in another Christian denomination, individuals will be prepared to profess their faith to the Catholic Church, receive Reconcilaition, Confirmation and First Eucharist. A special time is set aside to celebrate Reconciliation. Confirmation and First Eucharist are then received at the Easter Vigil.
