Padre Pio was a humble Capuchin monk who never left the small area of Southern Italy where he was born, lived and died. Yet, through bilocation he was seen throughout the world and even seen standing in the clouds. He carried the visible wounds of Christ crucifixion on his hands, feet and side. He also experienced the scourges of Christ on his back. Padre Pio was physically attacked by the devil and numerous times found beaten and bloodied in his cell. Yet his faith and love grew. He asked God to let him take on the suffering of others and God did. Padre Pio heard confessions for hours every day, hardly ate anything, preformed miracles, had the gift of tongues and could read souls. He did all of this every day for 50 years, never taking time off. All out of love for Jesus. Hardened sinners converted and skeptical and atheistic critic’s hearts changed and continue to change because of this humble monk.
