Summary:

St. Jude known as Thaddaeus, was one of the apostles, the brother of St. James the Less and a relative of our savior, Jesus Christ. After the resurrection of Christ, St Jude preached in Judea, Samaria and Mesopotamia. He is the author of an epistle (letter) to the Churches of the East against the heresies of the Gnostics. The Apostle is said to have been martyred in Armenia. St. Jude is invoked in desperate situations because his epistle stresses that the faithful should persevere in the environment of harsh, difficult circumstances, just as their forefathers had done before them.
