Shepherd's Promise is weekly religious education for students in Grades K-8 geared for children who attend public schools, charter schools and those who are homeschooled.
Two sessions to choose from:
Tuesday 4:30-5:45 p.m. for Grades K-8
Wednesday 6:00-7:15 p.m. for Grades K-8
Each class is taught by two volunteer Catechists. Classes are held in the Evangelization Center (school) building at St. Thomas More. We encourage our classes to be a faith community where they not only learn their faith, but learn how to express it as well. We coordinate several celebrations to include all grades throughout the year including: Advent Prayer Services, Sacrament Preparation Blessings, Mass, Stations of the Cross, Marian Crowning and Service Projects. In addition, we offer many experiences involving our beautiful campus. These include: visiting the Church Sanctuary, praying in the Adoration Chapel, looking through the Devotional Cove and studying our lessons in the St. Francis Prayer Garden and the Pro-Life Prayer Garden. Classes for the 2016-2017 school year will begin September 20/21, 2016. Letters/e-mails will be sent out the week prior to notify families of classrooms and Catechists.
Catechsits are desperately needed! Really, every year, this is where we need the most help. Won't you help share the faith with our younger Catholics?
Catechist and Volunteer Orientation will be Monday, September 12, 2016 from 6-8pm in St. Francis Hall. This will include distribution of Catechists' manuals, class lists and room assignments.
